Crochet Robor Baby (Free pattern)

Notes for following my patterns:   ** Work in spirals. Do not join, slip stitch or turn unless otherwise stated in the pattern.  ** Use a stitch marker in the beginning of each round. This will help to mark the first stitch of every round.  ** Alternative for stitch marker: You can use different colored yarn for stitch markers too. Just place it into the first stitch of every row/round as you go.  ** Alternative for magic ring: Make chain 2. Work 6sc in first chain.  Crochet abbreviations (United States) Ch                chain sc                 single crochet 2sc               2 single crochets in a single stitch sc2tog          single crochet 2 stitches together (decrease) ( )                  repeat between () number of times indicated HEAD: With green color Consists of 6 rectangular parts Front and back of the head: Start with ch15 Round 1: start in second chain from hook , (1sc in ch1) repeat 14 times , ch1 [14] Round 2-12: turn, s

The Invisible Decrease (right side)

“The Invisible Decrease” method - there are no holes or bumps in sight!

Typically when you are decreasing, you are instructed to either single crochet 2 together (sc2tog) or single crochet decrease ([insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop] twice; yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook).  The Invisible Decrease uses a different method, and it is very important to know the difference between the front loops and the back loops of stitches.

When crocheting amigurumi, you usually work through both loops of the stitches.  The front loops are those on the outside of the circle closest to you.  The back loops are those on the inside of the circle.

Invisible Decrease:

If you are not already using “The Invisible Decrease” when making amigurumi, I HIGHLY recommend trying it out.  Just like the Magic Circle, once you’ve started using it, you won’t ever go back!
